Firenze! parte due

My Favourite photo of Florence. Taken in a scooter's handlebar mirror.

We walked & talked & walked. Florence was full of amazing things to see. If Rome was on Cocaine then Florence was on Codeine. There was still a lot of tourists but there was more room to breath & the fact that we could walk from place to place made it feel much more personal.

Basilica Di San Miniato Al Monte

Standing atop one of the highest points in the city. Near Pizzale Michaelangelo. This is not to be missed when visiting Florence. You can get here by getting the number 12 bus outside of the train station & if you dont buy a ticket it is free :)

St. Miniato was a prince serving in the Roman army. He was denounced as a Christian after becoming a hermit and was brought before the Emperor who ordered him to be thrown to beasts.  There a panther was called upon him but refused to devour him. He was then beheaded.

This church has many miracles to speak of (as they all do). A brand new one was found when somehow I tied my shoelaces & produced a 3 hoop!

There was this really cool graveyard attached but was off limits so I turned all paparazzi.

piazzale michelangelo

Standing atop another one of the highest points in the city. You can get here again by getting the number 12 bus outside of the train station & if you dont buy a ticket it is still free :)

Piazza Della Signoria
This is a square that holds a reproduction of Michelangleo's David & Bartolommeo Bandinelli's Hercules & Cacus.

The square also holds the Fountain of Neptune.

This piece of art was not appreciated in its time & it would seem it still isn't. In 2005 3 scumbags climbed Neptune, damaged his hand & trident!

It rained a lot! while ducking for cover in a gucci or wherever's shop window we saw this girl.

She spent the whole rain shower prancing about. It was entertaining.

Florence may have started a little rocky but ended very well. Firenze is for sure one of our favourite cities.
